A policy can’t be backdated in order to apply for a benefit or provision that would otherwise be unavailable. The availability of benefits and provisions are based on the insured person’s age nearest at the time the application is completed.
For example, we can’t backdate to:
- Age nearest 17 to issue a juvenile policy
- Age nearest 50 to apply for the LTCCO
- Age nearest 50 to apply for ROPD on a Sun Permanent Life policy
