MGA year-end: Take note of these key dates

Year-end is coming up fast! It’s important to be aware of these dates to guarantee pending cases are part of your 2026 commissions.

Key dates in 2026:

  • November 27: The last day to submit conversion applications for guaranteed review (this excludes original age conversions).
  • December 10: The last day to courier settlement documents to guarantee 2026 commission payout.
  • December 11, by 4 p.m. ET: The last day for Sun Life to receive settlement documents (including cheques), for cases to be included in 2026 commissions.
  • December 15: Sun Life’s settlement close date for 2026 commissions.

Commission payout will happen before the end of the year, based on the applicable remuneration schedule.

Settling policies from December 17-22

If we settle a policy between December 17-22, it’s possible that it will count toward your 2026 commissions. There are many factors that will determine when the commission will be paid out during this time (e.g. product type, stat holiday availability etc.).
