Teladoc to be replaced by Sun Life Medical Second Opinion, by Dialogue

Starting June 1, 2025, we’re changing our medical second opinion service provider from Teladoc Medical Experts to Sun Life Medical Second Opinion, by Dialogue. This comparable offering gives Clients access to additional medical supports to manage their health care.

This offering is a non-contractual service available with:

  • Sun Critical Illness Insurance (CII) sold March 11, 2005, and later
  • Express CII (Comfort Plan)
  • Choices CII (all plans)
  • older series of some life and CII products as an optional benefit

What this change means for Clients

As of June 1, 2025:

  • Teladoc Medical Experts will no longer be available for new requests. However, Teladoc Medical Experts will continue to provide their services to Clients and their dependents with cases that were already opened prior to June 1, 2025.
  • For new requests, Clients will access services through Sun Life Medical Second Opinion, by Dialogue.

No action is needed from you or Clients. Closer to the June 1, 2025, launch date, Client-facing material will be available that will include details of the offering, as well as an updated phone number and website for Clients to access the services.
