Review the typical life cycle for incorporated professionals and provide guidance on the planning, wealth, and insurance opportunities at each stage. In this presentation, we will look at tax rates inside a corporation and highlight various planning topics that result from the different levels of taxation. We will highlight the many resources available for you to work within this market as well as the business market in general. This presentation is aimed to assist you in speaking with your Clients and prospects at any stage of their business life cycle.
Paul focuses on complex case consultation within EFPS, with special attention to Canadian business owners, trusts and estate planning. Paul uses his experience as a practicing lawyer to develop practical solutions with a goal of ensuring clients understand how to meet their objectives tax efficiently. Prior to joining Sun Life Financial, Paul was a practicing lawyer with a focus on estate planning, trusts, corporate structures and reorganizations. Paul is the former President of the Halifax Estate Planning Council, member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society and volunteers regularly with the FP Canada.

Review the various financial and estate tools available for someone with a disability. This includes a review of provincial restrictions on assets and income and how Registered disability savings plans (RDSPs), Henson trusts and other tax planning tools fit within the Client's plan.
Valerie is an experienced financial planner and accountant. During her time as a tax manager, she specialized in personal, corporate and trust & estate taxation. She also has experience supporting ultra-high net worth private banking clients with wealth and tax planning. In addition to the CFP and TEP designations, Valerie holds accounting designations in Canada (CPA, CA) and in the US (CPA, Washington) and recently obtained her FEA designation. Valerie is particularly interested in helping Clients reach their financial goals through tax efficiencies and estate enhancement.
