Jennifer is a seasoned life and health insurance professional with over 25 years in the financial services industry. She joins Sun Life from SCOR Global Life where she was Chief Underwriting Officer and Head of Claims & Propositions. In this role, she led both their underwriting and claims teams in ensuring service standards were met with client satisfaction. Before that, Jennifer held numerous underwriting positions at RBC Insurance over the span of 14 years with the company. She played a key role in advancing life and health underwriting standards with innovative insurance products, optimal risk management and drove efficiency across the underwriting practice. Jennifer also worked for Canada Life and Clarica Life Insurance Company before it was acquired by Sun Life.
Jennifer will lead the Underwriting and Claims Risk Management Team. She will be responsible for ongoing review and changes to Sun Life underwriting requirements, guidelines, practices and philosophies including evidence of insurability questions for all underwriting teams. She will provide underwriting and claims risk perspective to various projects and promote excellence and consistency in underwriting risk assessment and claims adjudication across Sun Life Canada.
Jennifer holds a Master of Business Administration from Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. She is on the Board of Directors for the Academy of Life Underwriting and was previously the Chair of the Canadian Reinsurance Conference, finishing her three-year term.
