• Either the owner or the insured must be the same for all policies in the bundle.
• Every bundle must include an Evolve Term life insurance policy with a minimum face amount of $500,000.
• Every three-product bundle must include both an Evolve Term life insurance policy and a CII policy.
• Multiple CII policies and/or multiple permanent life insurance policies could be eligible for the discount provided the owner or insured also obtained at least one Evolve Term life insurance plan at the same time.
• Permanent life insurance policies eligible for the bundle include the following products: SunUniversalLife II, Sun Permanent Life.
• For any qualifying Universal Life policies, the discount will be equivalent to 2 or 3 months of cost of insurance (COI), based on a monthly average of the COI charged for the policy during the 6-month qualifying period.
• All eligible permanent life insurance policies are considered one product type. Multiple distinct products within this product type won’t increase the bundle from a 2-product bundle to a 3-product bundle (e.g. Evolve Term + SunUniversalLife II + Sun Permanent Life II is a 2-product bundle). In a situation like this all permanent life products will be eligible for the 2-month premium/COI discount.
• If backdating is requested, both the life and CII policies must be backdated to the same date. Backdating more than six months will not be allowed.
• The life and CII policies must remain in-force and have premiums paid for six months in order to receive the cheque. The six-month eligibility window begins from the settle date of the last policy in the bundle that settles.
• All applications must be received on the same day within the offer window of October 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024 to qualify for the bundle.
• Conversions from term to permanent insurance (for life or CII plans) where an Evolve Term policy is also purchased at the same time will be eligible for the offer.
• Conversions from an existing term plan to a longer term duration on a new Evolve Term plan will be eligible to qualify for the bundle.
• Clients with existing applications in flight that cancel to reapply just to become eligible for the offer won’t qualify.
• If a Client is approved for one or more product types applied for but declined through underwriting for one or more other product types, the Client will still be eligible for the premium/COI discount. If the decline results in only two product types being approved, the premium/COI discount will be the 2-month premium discount for any policies being proceeded with.
• If one of the qualifying policies is a policy with joint insured or joint owners, the policy will be able to count towards the eligibility of more than one bundle, however, only one premium/COI discount will be issued for that joint policy, provided it is not an Evolve Term policy.
• If optional benefits (e.g. ROPC/ROPD, TDB) are chosen with the CII policy or the permanent life policy, the costs for the optional benefits will also be included in the premium/COI discount, however costs associated with a Term Insurance Benefit (TIB) will not be included in the premium/COI discount.
• After the six-month eligibility window, we will notify the Client about the two or three-month premium/COI discount they will receive. See “Sample Client letter and amendment”. The cheque will always be sent to the policy owner for each policy that qualifies, even for bundles that qualify from having the same insured with different owners.
• Participating whole life insurance, Personal Health Insurance, Health Coverage Choice and Sun Retirement Health Assist are not eligible product types for this offer. Evolve Term premiums are not included in the discount. Premiums/COI associated with a Term Insurance Benefit are not included in the discount. Group conversion products are not eligible for the bundle.
