Possible Canada Post mail disruption - Notice of 72-hour strike notice

November 12, 2024

At Sun Life, we’re preparing for the possibility of a postal disruption due to ongoing labour negotiations. On November 12, 2024, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) filed a 72-hour strike notice. There is a possibility that postal services may be disrupted beginning on Friday, November 15, 2024.

Service to Sun Life Clients remains our top priority. We continue to monitor the situation and the impact it may have to postal service across Canada. We'll provide you with more information on the measures we'll take the day a postal disruption is formally announced.

Here's what you can do to minimize disruption:

Encourage Clients to sign up for sunlife.ca or the mySunLife mobile app if they haven't already and set up digital payment options.

Clients can access the following documents electronically on sunlife.ca or through the mySunLife mobile app:

  • Personal investments tax slips and receipts
  • Personal insurance tax slips and receipts
  • Sun UL & Clarica UL statements
  • Non-term insurance policy statements

We’ll continue to keep you informed as the situation unfolds.

If you have any questions or concerns, or if we can provide any further assistance in the event of a postal disruption, please contact us at 1-800-800-4786.
